Three Things You Should Always Do When Dating Your Foreign Fiance.
With everything in life, there are some Dos and Don’ts before proceeding with a K1 Fiance Visa. Although things can seem simple, complications may arise. Looking at it from the 20,000 foot level, you find a girl online, meet her and then get married. Yet I can tell you from experience it is not that simple. Even if you have already found someone and dating, these simple “Dos and Don’ts” will help you succeed.
These are things to look out for when searching or dating a woman from abroad.
1) Free dating websites… there are many of them, do not use them. 99% of the women on these websites are not real. Photos are never real and you will find that most women will try to take money from you. If you are dating and talking to a woman from a free website, use caution. Give the relationship at least a few months before moving forward with the relationship. Send flowers to her home address. Have the flower agency take a picture of her to ensure you are talking to a real person. Usually when flowers are sent, you rarely ever hear back from her.
2) One rule that is blasted out all over the Internet is, “Never Send Money to Someone You Have Never Met”. Why? Most of the time if a woman is asking you for money, she is not real. She just wants to get as much money out of you as possible before moving on to her next victim. Often times she will go to the extreme of calling you to try and convince you that she is real. Don’t fall for it. The best thing to do is move on to someone new.
3) Identity theft is big business abroad. Don’t give out your personal information to anyone. The more information you give out, the easier it is for her to steal your identity. Don’t give it out. You need to be comfortable before any conversation of this nature can be discussed. She will know your information soon enough. You will have to provide her with all your personal finances when she goes for the K1 Fiance Visa Interview. Everything in good time.
Here is what you should be doing.
1) Ask lots and lots of questions. Ask her about her life. What does she like in life? What are her dislikes. Are you compatible? The only way to know is to ask the hard questions. Don’t be blinded by the beauty of the picture. If you are not compatible beauty will not keep a marriage together.
2) Meet you fiance more than once. I know the government only requires you to meet her once in a two year period, but you truly cannot get to know someone in just one meeting. Do yourself and your fiance a favor by meeting more than once. I recommend a minimum of three times or more.
3) Save all your trip information to show proof that you have met. Save phone logs, emails, receipts and anything else that can show you met your fiance face to face. It will help you once you submit your K1 Fiance Visa Application.
When finding or dating a woman from abroad, these are the first “Dos and Don’ts”. Do these few simple things before starting the K1 Fiance Visa Process. Your relationship will be stronger and more stable for it.
